Exchange Club of Mooresville - Lake Norman
9/11 Memorial Ceremony

Annually on September 11th

The events of September 11, 2001, will always be engraved in American hearts and minds.  Our memories of those horrifying times will always be etched there. The Mooresville - Lake Norman Exchange Club honors the lives of those who were impacted by the terrorist attacks on the World Trade Centers in New York City, the Pentagon in Virginia, and Flight 93 in 2001.  Each year on September 11, The Exchange Club of Mooresville - LKN, the Town of Mooresville, and Welcome Home Veterans at Richard's Coffee Shop honor the day that forever altered the course of American history.  From Mooresville Town Hall, everyone is invited to walk silently to Liberty Park, where a short ceremony takes place.

A display, inaugurated in 2022, was created in First Responder Memorial Park in Mooresville, and honored the 2,977 souls who lost their lives on September 11, 2001.  The display represents the image of the World Trade Centers and the Pentagon.  Each flag is placed precisely by members of the Exchange Club and Excel Club of the Mooresville and Pine Lake Prep High School.
